Somerset Neighborhood Public Schools
Somerset students attend schools in the "Wheeler Cluster", which includes schools regularly ranked among the best in the state and in the U.S. -- All of these schools boast very successful private foundations that raise additional funds for their programs, through strong community and business support.

Wheeler High School has been named among the top 5% of all U.S. high schools by Newsweek magazine, and its Center For Advanced Studies is a widely recognized magnet program in science and technology, with close ties to Georgia Tech.

East Cobb Middle School is home to one of Cobb County's first STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics) programs, and their Foundation has funded and implemented the nationally-recognized Challenge Day program for all 7th-grade students every year for the last several years, to widespread acclaim.

Sope Creek Elementary School is consistently ranked in the top 3% of Georgia public elementary schools, with at least 95% of students meeting/exceeding standards on all 2010 CRCT tests.

SCIENCE/MATH
Students at Wheeler Cobb County's Science, Math, and Technology Magnet can choose from classes in fields as diverse as engineering, robotics, medical biotechnology, chemical engineering, and communications/information technology. Wheeler interns have worked in Georgia Tech's neuroengineering and biomedical labs and have conducted cardiology research through the Woodruff Health Sciences Center at Emory University.

THE ARTS
For the musically inclined, this Cobb high school offers a marching band that has performed on international stages, as well as a jazz band, symphonic bands, several orchestras, choirs, and numerous solo and ensemble groups. The award-winning drama and visual arts departments cover a range of disciplines, from musical, technical and children's theater to ceramics, sculpture, and photography.
