The year 2007 will mark the sixth anniversary of the Somerset Gourmet Club. Word has gotten out what fabulous fun this is ..... the number of participants keeps growing each year! The objective of the Gourmet Club is to provide a forum for quarterly high-end restaurant food and paired wine dinners for people who really enjoy cooking. Groups of 7-8 people are assigned for the year and meet four times, usually in February, May, August and November. The responsibility of being the host house rotates during the year between that group's members. The host house is responsible for researching and planning the menu and recipes, as well as providing the main course. The host then assigns out the rest of the meal to the other participants. If your are in doubt, think about how you would answer these questions:
- Do you enjoy cooking?
- Do you like to host elegant dinner parties for 7-10 in your home?
- Do you appreciate fine wine and food?
- Do you enjoy menu planning?
- Do you like getting to know some new neighbors?
- Does your schedule allow you to lock in on a quarterly commitment?
If you answered 'yes' to these questions, you might very well enjoy joining the Somerset Gourmet Dinner Club. In a nutshell, the expectation is that of a special occasion FINE RESTAURANT dining experience with wine pairings, and not something you would have for a 'company's coming dinner.'
We organize groups at the end of each year for the following year. If you are interested in participating the next time we establish groups, and/or have questions, please contact either Teresa Bishop 770.953.2379 or Nancy Forbes 770.933.8644.
